The worshipful Mayor of Swindon, visited our club to be our judge in the John Evans Competition and did us proud.

Last Thursday 23rd March, Mr. Mayor, Councilor Eric Shaw proved to be a good and informative judge,

describing his opinion of the entries while giving us fascinating information about the history of the Swindon Mayor and Mayors in general.

He came to judge the john Evans Competition, named after an Evening Advertiser chief photographer and ex member of our club.

The rules are simply prints taken within the last year and within 10 miles of Swindon.

The worthy winner, chosen by the Mayor, was Maurice Pitt’s “ Storm coming over Coate Water”.

We would like to thank the Mayor for his excellent contribution, and hope that he enjoyed our club as much as we enjoyed his visit.
